With the Expeed 7 engine at its core, Nikon’s new DX sensor camera is the enthusiast camera with pro-level features and easy-to-use controls that will take your stills and videos to the next level

Get the images you want

New to Nikon Z cameras on the Nikon Z50II is the dedicated Picture Control button that lets you cycle through different image Recipes to get the look you want before you press the shutter. You can download Recipes from your favourite Nikon photographers and Creators free from Nikon Imaging Cloud to get their look, or create your own and save them as custom presets. Nikon Imaging Cloud also offers instant upload and free, unlimited storage of your images for 30 days, seamless transfer to your third party cloud platform and over-the-air firmware updates.

See things your way

The Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) on the Nikon Z50II has a brightness of 1000 cd/m2 – that’s around twice as bright as the competition! And the vari-angle monitor is one of the largest in its class. It can also work in any orientation, with the menus and display information automatically reorienting when you shoot vertically.

Make product reviews pop

Exclusive to the Nikon Z50II is Product Review Mode, which Automatically focuses on something raised in front of the camera instead of continuously trying to lock on to your face. Perfect for vloggers, it means you no longer have to cover your face when showing a product to the camera up close. And when you lower the product, Autofocus will snap back to you. Vloggers also benefit from a red recording light on the front of the camera, so you know you when you’re on.

Simple to use, easy to carry

The Nikon Z50II is a newly designed body that takes its cues from pro-level Nikon Z cameras, including the layout of controls and buttons, making it comfortable to hold and easy to use. Meanwhile the EVF design has been streamlined, making the camera easy to take in and out of a bag without any annoying snagging. And, at around 550g, it’s light enough for those all-day (and night) adventures.

Never miss a moment with Pre-Release Capture

A feature on Nikon’s high-end pro cameras is now making its way to a DX camera for the first time. Pre-Release Capture allows you to start taking images before you press the shutter all the way. You can choose from 0.3s, 0.5s and 1.0s of buffering time and you can shoot continuously up to 30 frames per second.

Intelligent Auto mode

When you want to leave all the decisions to the camera, Auto mode has your back. Using the power of the Expeed 7 processor and Nikon’s unique AI deep learning technology, the Nikon Z50II will automatically optimise the camera’s settings by recognising the subject and scene. When you suddenly see a moment that needs to be preserved, just switch on the camera in Auto mode and you’re ready to go.

Superb Autofocus capabilities

The Nikon Z50II has Autofocus performance and subject detection equivalent to the flagship Nikon Z9, so you’ll feel like a pro from the start. There are nine types of subject detection (people, dogs, cats, birds, cars, planes, bicycles, motorbikes, trains), and it can also be set to Auto, recognising any subject in the frame. 3D tracking allows you to track a moving object and keep it sharp, and an improved AF-A mode lets the camera take charge and switch between Autofocus modes during shooting to ensure the best results.

Zoom with a prime!

You can now zoom in Full HD video even with a fixed focal length prime lens using the Nikon Z50II, and, unlike other digital zooms there is no loss of resolution on the footage. You can zoom up to 2x and choose from 11 different zoom speeds for a range of effects, depending on what you want to achieve in the shot. The hi-res zoom system also works with zoom lenses for even more creative options.

Streaming made easy

When it comes to streaming, the Nikon Z50II is truly plug and play. Simply attach your camera to your PC or smartphone via USB and you’re ready to go – no software to download, no other connections, just simple and easy.

Pro video results with N-Log

Get full control over your video by shooting in N-Log, getting the full dynamic range of your footage and the ability to colour grade like a pro. N-Log makes it much easier to capture the colour and tone information without worrying about blowing out highlights or underexposing shadows, giving you much more creative freedom when editing.
